REFLECT anchors the kitchen at GUBI House Paris
Collection: REFLECT / Countertop: Stainless steel
LOCATION: Paris, France
PROJECT: GUBI House
COLLECTION: REFLECT with Jean Nouvel
Set within a historic apartment in Paris’s 8th arrondissement, GUBI House Paris reimagines the showroom as a lived interior. Rather than presenting objects in isolation, the space unfolds as an apartment, one shaped by light, movement, and everyday use. High ceilings, tall French windows, and preserved architectural details frame a series of interconnected rooms across two floors. Each setting reflects a different rhythm of living, from social gathering and quiet work to dining and rest, allowing the collection to settle naturally into the architecture.
At the heart of the apartment sits REFLECT, its ridged, mirrored surface responding subtly to light and geometry within the space. The kitchen is functional and architectural, attuned to everyday life rather than display. A checkered floor in oxide red and white introduces pattern and depth, softly registering across the reflective fronts and tying the room together. Throughout the apartment, furniture is arranged as it would be in a private home, anchored by use, atmosphere, and material presence. Design is experienced in context, not as a statement, but as part of a lived environment shaped over time.
"Design behaves differently when it’s placed in a real environment."
