SURFACE brings texture and warmth to compact living

Nestled in Madrid’s La Latina neighborhood, this serene studio by Natalia Swarz and Armando Mesías—the founders of Hilma Homes—is an ode to slow, intentional living.

Designed as a creative retreat, the space features rustic beams and soft, plastered walls, paired with thoughtful materials and calming tones. At its heart is our SURFACE collection, designed in collaboration with Norm Architects, in smoked oak, paired with natural stone, which brings warmth and texture to the compact space without overpowering it. 

Inspired by the serene aesthetics of Japan and the elegance of Denmark, the kitchen reflects the couple’s thoughtful approach to design—where every detail supports a sense of calm and purpose.
