About the material
Corian is an advanced composite product used as an architectural and design material in a variety of residential spaces. Corian countertops offer versatility, functionality and durability and the material can be welded to leave the joints seamless and invisible.
Good to know
Made from acrylic polymer and natural materials, corian is non-porous, which makes it hygienic as bacteria are unable to develop in the countertop. With time, scratches will develop in the surface, which can be removed by honing the surface in the same way as you would hone a solid wood countertop. The worst scratches can be avoided by refraining from exposing the surface to direct contact with knives, cast iron, ceramics and always using cutting boards.
Care and maintenance
Corian is easy to clean with a cloth soaked in warm water or standard household detergent. Keeping an even surface on the entire countertop over longer periods of time requires removing stains as soon as spilling occurs.
